The Piano Guys, Utah’s sensational classical and pop crossover artists, are bringing their signature sounds to Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall!
The Piano Guys were formed in St. George in 2010 and is currently composed of Jon Schmidt (pianist), Steven Sharp Nelson (cellist), Paul Anderson, and Al van der Beek. The group has its origins in Paul’s piano shop where Jon walked in one day and asked if he could practice on one of the pianos for an upcoming concert. It wasn’t long before the pair were recording and making videos together, and with the addition of Steven, they started posting them to YouTube. They recruited Al and their videos became even more popular, getting millions of YouTube views. Their channel currently has close to 4.7 million subscribers and their videos have over 900 million views. They’ve released 5 studio albums, 1 live album, and they also occasionally collaborate with other artists. Each of their last four albums hit #1 on both of Billboard’s New Age Albums and Classical Albums charts, and their latest album (Wonders) reached #12 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
