John Edmund Mulaney was born in Chicago in 1982 and is a comedian, actor, writer, and producer. He took an interest in sketch comedy and sitcoms at an early age and when he was 7, he could have auditioned for the role of Kevin in Home Alone but his parents said no. After finishing college (he studied English literature at Georgetown University) John moved to New York City to pursue a career in comedy. His first job was that of an office assistant at Comedy Central and after working there for about a year, he pitched an idea for a parody of VH1's TV show I Love the '80s. He got the green light and the show (titled I Love the '30s) and it ran on Comedy Central from 2005 to 2008. Other writers and comedians started to take notice and soon, John was hired by Mike Birbiglia and Demetri Martin to write for TV projects. In the summer of 2008, he became a writer for Saturday Night Live and it wasn’t long before he released his debut comedy album. He went on to have a stellar career with 3 comedy albums and roles in TV shows.
