Joe Bonamassa, New York’s sensational blues rock artist is bringing his signature sounds to the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall!
Joe was born in New Hartford in 1977 and was exposed to blues rock (artists such as Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck) by his father who was an avid music fan. Joe began playing guitar at the age of 4 and had his own band (called Smokin' Joe Bonamassa) when he was 12. In 1989 he was the opening act for some of B.B. King’s shows and it wasn’t long before he was playing in a band called Bloodline (along with the sons of Miles Davis, Robby Krieger, and Berry Oakley). Although Bloodline did not become famous, it got Joe a lot of attention and he released his debut solo album (A New Day Yesterday) in 2000. Last year Joe received a Blues Music Award in the Instrumentalist – Guitar category.
