Former U.S Vice President Joe Biden is presenting his upcoming book (Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose) at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall!
Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. was born in Scranton (Pennsylvania) in 1942 and is a politician and member of the Democratic Party. He represented Delaware as a United States Senator from 1973 and in 2009, he became the 47th Vice President of the United States. He's received many distinctions including honorary degrees from the University of Scranton, Saint Joseph's University, Widener University School of Law, Emerson College, University of Delaware, Suffolk University Law School, Syracuse University, University of Pennsylvania, Miami Dade College, Trinity College (Dublin), Colby College, Morgan State University, and University of South Carolina. Syracuse University has also given him a George Arents Pioneer Medal - its highest alumni award - for excellence in public affairs as well as Chancellor Medal. His other accolades include a Hilal-i-Pakistan award from the Government of Pakistan, a Golden Medal of Freedom award from Kosovo, and a freedom of County Louth in the Republic of Ireland. His highest honor is the Presidential Medal of Freedom given to him by President Barack Obama for "faith in your fellow Americans, for your love of country and a lifetime of service that will endure through the generations."
