Adam Richard Sandler was born in Brooklyn in 1966 and is an actor, comedian, screenwriter, film producer, and musician. He began his comedy career at the age of 17 when his brother dared him to take the stage at a Boston comedy club's amateur night. His breakthrough came when he was discovered by comedian Dennis Miller, who recommended him to the producers of late night TV sketch comedy show, Saturday Night Live. He became one of the show's most popular actors during his five year stint, making a name for himself by performing amusing original songs such as ‘The Thanksgiving Song’ and ‘The Chanukah Song’. He’s released 5 comedy albums and 2 of them (What's Your Name, Stan and Judy's Kid) have been certified Gold and another 2 (They're All Gonna Laugh at You!, What the Hell Happened to Me?) went double Platinum. He’s also had a stellar career as a Hollywood star and his films have grossed over 2 billion dollars at the box office. He's been nominated for 2 Grammy Awards (for Best Comedy Album), a Golden Globe Award (for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy), and many more.
